The last country to win the PGA Championship for the first time was Northern Ireland (Rory McIlroy) in 2012.

England-born Jim Barnes was the first PGA Championship-winner in 1916.

The USA won all 26 PGA Championships played between 1920-46. The run was broken by Australia´s Jim Ferrier in 1947.
